Trung Nguyen Creative 3 Sparrow Arabica (Se) - 3-Pack

Select single-source Buon Me Thuot Highland Arabica, a variety grown only in Vietnam. Se means "Sparrow", the name given to this indigenously developed varietal. A sweet, refreshing coffee with no bitterness. Floral and vanilla notes; extremely versatile.

This is a 3-Pack of 12 oz bags (340 grams) for ground coffee. Total weight is ~2.25 lb of coffee. Creative 3 is not available in whole bean, sorry.

Sorry, out of stock. We will not be ordering again from Trung Nguyen until import conditions change... both canals are down and there is a dock strike pending in New York. So, until the world becomes "normal" again we suggest you try our own fresh-roast similar blend, Saigon Lam Dong, here.

More Information

The Trung Nguyen Creative Three (Arabica Se) is one of the world's most select and superior Arabica coffees. The Se stands for "Sparrow". The Sparrow Arabica is a cultivar grown exclusively in Vietnam and is noted for its mild acidity and superb balance. We often describe it as "what a donut-shop coffee wants to be when it grows up"!

If you object to the flavors in the new hybrid Arabicas, which can be redolent of licorice, lemon or barley, you will enjoy the fully old-world taste of this fine Arabica.

The Arabica Se is such a great combination of mild acidity and balanced aroma and taste that it is well suited as an all-purpose coffee, served any time of day and excellent for icing.

It's also a perfect dessert coffee, being a little sweet and wonderfully rich, so it isn't eclipsed by your Tiramisu. Iced, it should be brewed strong. It's impossible to make the Se bitter by brewing, so use it in any brewing method and feel free to double the amount of grinds or even make it Turkish-style if you begin with whole bean and grind it fine.

This coffee is also a good candidate for cold brewing, where it picks up floral tones and becomes a low-acid but flavorful coffee when used in an iced coffee concentrate.

The Se works well in any brewing method, including even basket filter drip machines.

Allergy note: The special butter-roast process that gives Trung Nguyen coffees their unique flavor and aroma is a proprietary recipe and we cannot promise that it is safe for individuals with severe allergies to any vegetable oil, such as soy

We also can't promise it's vegan, but it is certified Halal and safe for lacto-vegetarians.

  6. 5 Star Review Liquid Perfection

I love this coffee !!! Not to strong , very smooth with chocolaty overtones. I brew one cup a day in an espresso machine so I buy ground and beans and mix a scoop of each to get a perfect crema . Even the simplest of orders like mine seem to get quick attention from Len and his team. All-round a great coffee and shopping experience.

  7. 5 Star Review The Best Coffee EVER

I am a coffee snob. I love good coffee. Vietnamese coffee is the best in the world, in my opinion, and Creative No. 3 is both delicious and affordable. I love it!

Recently, I invited a friend over for coffee, and we drank some of the Creative No. 3. She loved it, and now she goes around telling people how great Vietnamese coffee is!

  9. 5 Star Review Exceptional coffee.... I can't drink anything else

I just love the flavour of this coffee. My husband brought me some back from Vietnam and I was hooked. When I found Heirloom Coffee I was delighted. Such a great bunch of people to deal with and a wonderful product. I buy ground and whole bean that way I can do an espresso grind and mix it with the pre ground to give a perfect brew. I have one latte a day, double shot of Arabica Se with steamed whole milk, smooth coffee flavour never bitter & slight hint of cocoa. Their web site is constantly improving and now it is so simple to click and purchase.

  10. 5 Star Review Superb

This is a mellow, sweet coffee with overtones of chocolate, vanilla, and coconut. Very smooth. It's never bitter, so it can be brewed up nice and strong. Best coffee ever.

The Araku Valley of India

India's coffee tradition goes back 400 years or more, when a variety called Kent was first established in the Southern Hills. Arabicas predominated until the blight of 1870, when growers needed to hybridize to resistant varieties. The resultant strains had genes from Liberica and other unique, resistant species.
