Guatemala has exceptional soil enriched by frequent ashfall from its many active volcanoes. This fertile soil produces a unique taste profile that is truly addictive. Most of its growing regions are at extremely high altitudes, producing Strictly Hard Beans that are bluish in color and dense in flavor. It is difficult to connect with small farmers during the current difficult political strife, but we have made a Direct Trade connection with a small collective of family farms with a 3-generation history of caring and quality.

The Araku Valley of India

India's coffee tradition goes back 400 years or more, when a variety called Kent was first established in the Southern Hills. Arabicas predominated until the blight of 1870, when growers needed to hybridize to resistant varieties. The resultant strains had genes from Liberica and other unique, resistant species.
