Saigon Espresso #1 for Restaurants and Cafés

Espresso #1 is the bold espresso solution that works well to produce a stunning, strong 'short black", or carry a strong, balanced coffee base into specialty drinks where it will prevail over dilution with anything from water to sweetened condensed milk. We supply this extraordinary espresso to several celebrity chef restaurants and dozens of cafés serving everything from espresso martinis to Vietnamese Egg Coffee.

Espresso #1 derives its name and heritage from an offering by Trung Nguyen, Asia's top-selling coffee company, which we sold to scores of coffee shops and restaurants until it was discontinued in 2009. We have recreated this great formula according to tradition Vietnamese roasting style.

Choose Espresso #1 for specialty drinks where other espressos will simply get lost. Espresso #1 stands up to anything you add to it and provides a strong, delicious coffee base to any type of drink. This is a bold, Arabica-based espresso to use mostly in specialty drinks like Egg Coffee, lattes, espresso martinis, etc. Our special formula creates a coffee that is about 1.5x the density of flavor of other espressos, to carry strongly through dilution of milk, egg, foams and alcohol. This is often the choice for one-coffee-for-all offerings because you can always reduce strength in a bold espresso... but it's harder to enhance strength easily in a milder espresso.

We ship this coffee in whole bean only, in multiples of 17 pounds that ships economically by USPS or UPS. Roasted to order, please allow 2-3 business days for production.

The Araku Valley of India

India's coffee tradition goes back 400 years or more, when a variety called Kent was first established in the Southern Hills. Arabicas predominated until the blight of 1870, when growers needed to hybridize to resistant varieties. The resultant strains had genes from Liberica and other unique, resistant species.
