Saigon Thunder - Special Master Blend

Saigon Thunder is a Labor of Love. When we introduced it in 2021, we had managed to get a small supply of a very special honey-process coffee and blended it in with our rare Liberica and prize-winning Vietnamese peaberry Robusta beans in a bold Harlequin roast mixing Dark and Light Roasts with just a light touch of chicory extract. It's a superbly crafted coffee that we made just to have something new and truly distinctive that we could share with our customers at a not-for-profit price.

Wonderfully full and complex, a tad smoky... chocolatey and buttery, too. What's not to love? Truly unique in the world, and definitely a Bucket List coffee experience :-)

These days, Liberica is only grown in small volumes in the Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam. Lack of Liberica has kept us from bringing this coffee back or keeping it in stock... but now it's back for as long as our new big shipment of Liberica lasts. Here comes the Boom!

8 ounces. Please choose whole bean or ground.

Another fine (smooth) blend. It's amazing how manage to make thus bold and strong without sacrificing smooth an not bitter, but you do!!! Bravo!!!

The Araku Valley of India

India's coffee tradition goes back 400 years or more, when a variety called Kent was first established in the Southern Hills. Arabicas predominated until the blight of 1870, when growers needed to hybridize to resistant varieties. The resultant strains had genes from Liberica and other unique, resistant species.
