Our Saigon Blends

Traditionally, Vietnamese coffee beans were roasted in kettles with butter and sugar, like nuts. All the brand name Vietnamese coffees we love, like Trung Nguyen, harken back to this tradition with their own special roasting techniques and flavors. When we became distributors of Trung Nguyen coffee in 2005, we were introduced by them to the techniques and nuances of how to make genuine Vietnamese coffee. When Trung Nguyen broke up into two companies in 2017, we had a lot of trouble getting inventory from the, so we decided we would create our own line with similar taste profiles.

We still carry the Trung Nguyen Creative Coffee line, but during these times of pirates in the Suez Canal and drought in the Panama Canal, the supply has once again grown iffy... and very costly. So we are glad we created our own line of blends, low-caffeine, decaf, and espressos so that genuine Vietnamese Coffee is always available to you at an affordable cost!

Saigon Blends are our fresh-roast line of Vietnamese-style coffees. They've got all the chocolatey, caramelly flavor and aroma you love about Trung Nguyen coffees, and more. Freshly roasted. Award-winning beans (including the vital ingredient: Vietnamese peaberry Robusta). Expertly blended by Len. It is unbelievably smooth, great hot or iced, and brews perfectly in a Phin for an amazing cafe sua da - or in a drip brewer or French press for your regular morning cup. And they are ALL available in whole bean, in a drier format than Trung Nguyen whose beans tend to bog down grinders.

The Araku Valley of India

India's coffee tradition goes back 400 years or more, when a variety called Kent was first established in the Southern Hills. Arabicas predominated until the blight of 1870, when growers needed to hybridize to resistant varieties. The resultant strains had genes from Liberica and other unique, resistant species.
